Punta del Este It is a city of just 20,000 inhabitants located east of Montevideo and that at another time of the year becomes a real tourist place. Its sandy beaches, its proximity to the spas of La Barra, Jose Ignacio, Puntaballenas, etc ... and its varied landscapes, has made it become a privileged place for tourism, especially that of Argentines and Brazilians.
And this place will also become a "technical stop" on my trip, where I can recover from the first thrilling days. My choice will be the Hotel Remanso, a well located hotel without the high prices of other neighboring hotels.
It has 51 rooms (32 standard, 18 superior and 1 suite). I will stay in a single room in a Standard room for 2 nights and the reservation, although I could have done it with your own web, I have processed it again with Fernando Semproni e Indoor Uruguay.
The price of the room can reach up to $ 300 USD in high season. Me I've taken it for $ 70 USD in individual regime. After all, it is my "operations center" for these two days.
his Location, as you know me, is in the center of Punta del Este with comfortable public areas and in the street of shops and restaurants.
The rooms They are spacious and with all kinds of amenities. It has a TV, wifi, telephone, laundry service, fridge, etc ... besides being perfectly clean.
The hotel also has Buffer breakfast and cafeteria service, 24-hour room service, snack bar, solarium and gym, PC with Internet access,…
Already back, let's go to our traditional "GUIDED VISIT“ of the hotel…
I don't even want to imagine how Punta del Este should get in high season. It must become a kind of Benidorm or Varadero of Uruguay. I must admit, that avoiding this, both the town and the accommodation loved it. The Hotel Remanso is located in one of the main streets of the Peninsula, with good restaurants, access to both beaches quickly and both walks. The building also looks small and very careful, as is the hall.
The room It does not disappoint. Large, very spacious, with carpet (clean), many closets, luggage space, television, refrigerator, bedside tables, very bright. Perhaps the but is that it is not precisely design, but that the decoration leaves a little to be desired.
He bath It is in another "stay" inside the same room. On the one hand it has a kind of sink with a large mirror, where there is also a dryer and plenty of space. On the other hand there is the "bathroom" itself, with the shower, another sink, toilet and other useful ...
Among the highlights of the hotel, perhaps the proper functioning of the WIFI for the laptop and the good attention of the girls at the reception. In cons, the breakfast buffet, little varied and somewhat poor for a hotel of this category.
The we would recommend? At summer prices, absolutely NO. At the price of the mid-low season, well ... it is still something expensive for what it offers. It is a very correct hotel but for which you should not pay more than 30 or 40 euros, so, like other times, it is at consumer taste.
