Budapest is expensive. Expensive in terms of accommodations. We have not found great opportunities for the date we wanted except shelters that did not quite attract us.
Finally, after discarding several options by price, we have stayed with a hotel that there are hardly any opinions on the internet but that gives us good vibes, the Central Basilica Hotel
To perform the reservation we have not had many complications since its Web It allows book-online. Simply fill out the form. Also do not ask for money in advance, everything is paid upon arrival.
The most important thing in the decision, as we said before, is its location, right next to the St. Stephen's Basilica. This will allow us to walk to all the places we want to see. In less than 5 minutes we will be next to the Chain Bridge that gives access to Buda, and if we want to go further to the interior of Pest, in another 5 minutes we will start at Andrassy Street, one of the main streets of the city and Unesco Heritage.
He price per day As we said before, it is affordable but expensive for a getaway. An average of € 82 / night. His Location Exact is H-1051 Budapest, Hercegprímás StraBe 8, telephone 0036 1 328-5010 / 5013To reach you have to take some of the transport from the airport to the center. From regular bus lines from 4:30 to 23:00, to several taxi lines. We will arrive after 23:00 so our best option will be a taxi. These have fixed prices to the different areas of the city.
The room It consists of a double bed and private bathroom with shower. It has a total of 44 rooms, all with minibar, television, hairdryer, safe (not all) and telephone. According to the opinions collected, it seems a clean and newly restored place, since it is a classic building dating from 1840 adapted to a beautiful area of the city, in a fairly quiet pedestrian street. Also the breakfast apparently it is quite complete
An important issue is that the reception remains open 24 hours, since we will arrive after 00:00.
Already back, we invite you to make a "GUIDED VISIT" of the accommodation with us.
To start talking about this hotel, before assessing its facilities, it is necessary to highlight its strongest point, its exceptional location. We are right next to the Basilica of San Esteban (hence the name), in a very lively street of restaurants and souvenir shops. Two streets below is another street of traditional Hungarian restaurants. Another 500 meters away is the Chain Bridge, which after visiting all of Budapest, could be considered the central point of any itinerary. If we return to Budapest without a doubt for us the best options to stay are:
- This, next to the Chain Bridge, although far from the expensive Le Meridiem, Sofitel, etc ...
- Vati Ucti Street, a little further south, going towards the Santa Isabel Bridge.
The hotel is immaculate. Since we entered, we found a small reception with two friendly receptionists. To put some fault, perhaps the first day when we arrived at 00'00 we found that they were doing some tests with the elevator and we had to walk up. The room It is perfect for what we were looking for. Large, well decorated, clean and with all kinds of services (television, telephone, minibar and even a bible). It is accessed with a kind of card that activates the door opening mechanism just by approaching it and also serves to turn on the electricity of the door
He bath It is very large, but also very wasted. It has a bathtub, a toilet and a sink with mirror and dryer. It also has hotel soaps and shampoos. However, the rest of the spacious bathroom is empty, occupied by a towel rail and little else. It is completely clean too.
Highlight the full breakfast buffet included in the price (and found on the -1 floor) whose schedule is from 7'00 to 10'30. From toasts, various types of buns, butter, tortilla or scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, cereals, yogurt, coffee, a multitude of infusions, milk, juices of various types, fruit, etc ...
Finally, although we do not use it, the hotel also has several additional services, such as internet, massages and some other treatment. The day you leave, you can check-out and leave your suitcase in a room prepared for it while visiting the city.recommendable? It is a medium budget hotel, it is not a bargain, although Budapest accommodation without going to hostels is quite expensive. If we put aside the quality / price issue and value it from the point of view that the economic issue was solved, we would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation for your stay in Budapest. Therefore, we dare to say without hesitation what remains fully recommended in CHAVETAS.ES
